Dave Geer, who won the 1986 race, will be competing in the 41st TD Bank Reedy River Run 10K. His time that year was an impressive 29:49 and was the first year that the 10K route was officially certified. Thirty-two years following that victory Geer expects to run "around 38:30", which is pretty fast for a 63-year-old. The former Clemson University standout (back in the last century) has an absolute 10K personal best of 29:08 and holds the South Carolina State Age Group record of 37:23 for the 60-64 Age Group. The native of New Jersey has resided in Clemson for most of his life after graduating there.
This year's event has over 3,000 runners registered with one week remaining until the starting horns sound. All 10K finishers will receive a Finishers Medal, which is the second in our collection following the commemorative medal cast in 2017 to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
