Over the coming days we will preview the 42nd TD Bank Reedy River Run. Today we look at Blowing Rock, NC's Aaron Nelson, who will be running this race for the first time. Aaron is a member of ON Zap Endurance and has a 10K personal best of 28:38.
Aaron is from Walla Walla, WA and a 2016 graduate of Washington University. During Aaron’s tenure at UW he became one of the best distance runners in the history of the program both in cross country and on the track. Aaron earned 2 All-American honors in cross country with a 20th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships his junior season and a 21st place finish as a senior. He went on to set the 5,000m school record of 13:47 on the indoor track and earn All-American honors twice in the indoor 5,000m run. He was a two-time Pac-12 Champion in the 3,000m steeplechase. In the winter of 2018 Nelson finished 13th at the US Cross Country Championships to earn a spot on his first US National Team. He went on to place 7th at the North American Central American Caribbean Championships, helping the US team to a gold medal finish.
