Over the coming days we will preview the 42nd TD Bank Reedy River Run. Today we have six questions for Greenville's James Quattlebaum, who will be running this race for the first time. A former high school standout at Christ Church Episcopal School, James completed his collegiate running experience at Clemson. He recently placed second in the Prisma Half Marathon in Greenville.
How many years have you been running and why did you start?
I have been running for 11 years. I started in 7th grade when i was first able to do school sports.
What is your favorite running experience?
My favorite running experience was competing at the Penn relays while I was at Clemson. It was just a really unique atmosphere for a track race.
Where is your favorite venue to run locally?
My favorite place to run locally is North Main or East North Street area. I like looking at all the nice houses out there and training on those hills.
Have you run TD Bank Reedy River Run previously?
I have not run this race previously.
What is your favorite part of the course?
I think I'm going to enjoy the big hills towards the end of the race.
Why are your running the TD Bank Reedy River Run?
I am running this race because it's one of the few races in Greenville I have not done. Also, I love competing against all the great runners that will be out there.
